A Taste of Britain
Your British Shop in Frankfurt

Our Products / UNSERE PRODUKTE

A Taste of Britain is unique in Frankfurt, indeed Hessen and increasingly even so in Germany as so many other little British shops like ourselves have had to close their doors.
Thanks to the support of our regular customer base in Frankfurt and also those who travel a further distance to shop with us, we have been able to keep our shelves fully stocked with all the British favourites and essentials.  It is not possible to list them all but below you can get a flavour of what to expect when you visit our shop.

In 1885 Arthur Charles Wilkin sold his first conserves. 1905 he changed the company name to Wilkin & Sons.  In Frankfurt we stock one of the largest ranges available in Germany including the famous Tiptree Little Scarlet, Tiptree Lemon Curd, Tiptree Tawny Orange Thick Cut Marmalade to name but a few.

Tiptree

No British Shop would not be complete without the staple basics which as an expat I also miss so much myself.  We always have these in stock so whether it is your Branston Pickle for your Cheddar sandwich or toastie, your mushy peas to go along with your Fish & Chips (of course we also have the Sarsons Malt Vinegar!) or ‘love it or hate it’,  your Marmite to spread on your toast as thinly or thickly as you like!  You will only find these staples all together on one shelf in Frankfurt and that is at A Taste of Britain!

As we import directly ourselves all our British Products from the UK, we are able to access a large range of original British Ales which are not normally found on the German market. These Ales are rotated every few months so it is always worth coming back to see which new ones we currently stock. We always however have the usual favourites such as Newcastle Brown Ale, Theakston Old Peculier, Shepherd Neame Spitfire, Fuller’s London Pride, Black Sheep Ale and Crabblie’s Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer.

What could be more British than a good Cuppa! We are able to offer one of the largest selections of the Original (these are the teas sold in the UK and not the different import versions found in Europe) Twinings Tea in Frankfurt and indeed on our English Tea Shop site you will find what is probably the biggest selection in Germany of these Original Twininigs Teas.

If you are planning an English Afternoon Tea then you will find not only the English Clotted Cream in our shop but also the Green’s scone mix to help you make the perfect scones.  If you prefer to bake your own from scratch then be sure to pick up the McDougall’s Self-Raising Flour which makes baking the perfect scones so much easier.  We also have a number of Tiptree Jams to go on top of your scones and if you want to serve some other Afternoon Tea treats then we can recommend Dean’s All Butter Shortbread Fingers and the Twinning’s English Afternoon Tea.
